☀️ Things to Remember When Getting a Spray Tan in the Sunshine ☀️
Warmer days and sunshine are always welcome, but if you’re booked in for a spray tan, there are a few important things to keep in mind to make sure your glow develops beautifully and lasts as long as possible.
Here’s your go-to guide for spray tanning during hot, sunny weather:
1. Deodorant
Even if it’s a warm day, please avoid applying deodorant before your spray tan.
Deodorant can act as a barrier that prevents the tan from developing properly under your arms. It can result in white, patchy areas, and in some cases, even turn the tan green due to a reaction with certain ingredients. Not the kind of summer vibe we want!
2. Clothing
You can wear anything comfortable to your appointment, but bring a loose, dark change of clothing to wear after your tan has been applied.
To protect your developing tan, we highly recommend long sleeves and trousers, even on hot days. The more your skin is covered, the better your tan will develop, exposure to sunlight, rubbing, or tight clothing can easily interfere with the results.
3. Sunbathing
Please avoid sunbathing or sitting in the sun for extended periods before or after your appointment.
Sunburned or damaged skin will not tan properly. Even if the burn is old, it can show up patchy or uneven once the spray tan is applied. If you’re out in the sun, don’t forget your SPF and consider pulling your straps down to avoid awkward tan lines, they’re often impossible to blend in with a spray tan.
4. Sweating
It’s totally normal to sweat more in the heat, but sweating while your spray tan is developing can affect the final result.
We recommend staying as cool as possible post-tan. If you do sweat, gently dab any beads of sweat with a soft cloth or tissue. Don’t rub or let it dry in naturally, it can cause streaks or patchy spots if left unattended.
With a little extra care and preparation, your summer spray tan can look just as flawless as ever.
